An externally jacketed reactor is a specialized high-pressure, high-temperature chemical reaction vessel designed for demanding industrial processes. Its defining feature is an external jacket that surrounds the core reactor vessel, through which a heat transfer fluid (such as steam, thermal oil, or cooling water) is circulated. This design allows for highly efficient and uniform heating or cooling of the reactants inside, ensuring precise temperature control critical for consistent reaction outcomes.
